1. Mount INSTALL_CD.iso using daemontools
2. Run setup.exe and make a full install
3. Extract the "Patch + Crack" map
4. Extract files from ja2_patch.zip to "X:\Program Files\Ja2\Data\Tilecache\" and overwrite all
6. Run ja2-eng_patch.exe and install in "X:\Program Files\Ja2\Data\" again overwrite all
7. Run JA2_1.07.exe and install in "X:\Program Files\Ja2\"
8. Have fun playing Jagged Alliance 2! (No cd required after installation)

In the country where Dino lived, the sun was shining all year round and pineapples grew so big and delicious that you could eat too much and burst for want of habit. But such thing never happened; everybody lived happily and was never sick.

But once upon a time a flying saucer hid the sun. It landed rather obtrusively right in the middle of the garden where Dino grew his fruits. Aliens started climbing out of it, and there were many, so it was not clear how they could all have found room in the saucer. They did not look very awful from the first sight, but turned to be real rogues. They broke trees, trampled down the grass, shoot their pistols and laughed disgustingly. They also put laser plants and barrels with explosives everywhere, planning to explode everything and build here own colony on the ruins.

Dino was a cheerful dinosaur. He could make some magic. He could slow down the time and become invisible. Before he only used his magic for peaceful purposes. But seeing aliens' disgraceful behavior he had to get angry. And here started a battle, the battle which became a legend. And long time afterwards dino-mamas told this story to their dino-babies before going to bed, and dino-babies blinked and stayed awake.

The beginning of this glorious battle coincides with the beginning of our game. Remember that the story we told you is based on the true facts and that the legend says that all ended well.

On the afternoon of April 12 in 2006, a massive explosion shattered the Chernobyl area. The Zone, as the area got to be known, was characterized by anomalous energy disturbances, rendering even the most advanced form of protective suits worthless to would be rescue teams. Months passed and nothing could be done. The military quarantined the area to prevent unauthorized entry and perhaps even reassure the local populace that the area was under control and confinement. Almost 4 years after the initial event, expeditions can now safely traverse several kilometers deep into the Zone. Among these are the Stalkers, poachers that enter the zone searching for artifacts and anomalous formations that are highly sought after by certain organizations and groups.

The player controls a Stalker, venturing into the Zone in order to acquire information, technology and artifacts to sell and possibly put a mysterious puzzle together. Avoiding the dangers within and the military because as a Stalker you are effectively a thief, and the army that has quarantined the area, don't take kindly to trespassers. Within the Zone you will have to detect and avoid the bizarre phenomenon's (anomalies) that plague the area, avoid or eliminate various kinds of mutants and you can even expect competition from other Stalkers.

Summary
A nice hack-and-slash Role Playing Game.
is rather good and it has it's good moments. The control system is also very comfortable. You move your mouse in a specific direction to attack, and press the right-mouse button that opens a little, unobtrusive menu that's easy to navigate. Don't expect a Baldur's Gate kind of story and depth, but rather a fantasy-like story, that's always believable.

Long ball passing stands out in particular as you can now drop the ball from midfield into the corners, letting speedy forwards race past the defense for a chance at a decent cross.

Passing in the air also succeeds because of the way players receive the ball. A small yellow marker indicates where the ball will land, and opponents will jostle for position, working to get a head on the ball. On offense that means sticking your butt right into a defender and pushing him backward or if he has position, trying to slide around him. On defense, you can push your opponent out of the way -- gambling on a whistle -- or you can let him push into you and, using a Judo-throw, slide in front. It's a great mini-battle that you will wage on almost every long ball in the game, and EA did a great job with it.

Somewhere deep in space, hidden in the infinity of the Universe, there is a treasure trove just waiting to be opened by the eager hands of a daring explorer. A mere asteroid, a piece of rock, a speck of dust lost in the boundless void, yet priceless to humanity. For under its frozen crust there are rich veins of the most precious substance known to man – hubbardium. This “liquid metal” is a key ingredient in the fuel of interstellar ships, thus enabling mankind to spread across the Universe from its base on Earth. Its importance is the reason why it is monopolized by the State Business Federation, a huge multinational corporation which is given control over every single step in production of hubbardium, from exploration to distribution.

And so, when this asteroid, subsequently named Alpha Prime, and its fabulous riches were discovered, the Corporation quickly came, and a huge, sprawling base was promptly built on its surface as the giant mining machines begun its work.

But all was not well on Alpha Prime. While its hubbardium veins might be plentiful, some of them were also dangerous. They slowly intoxicated the minds of human workers, and damaged the positron brains of the artificial ones, including the central computer. Conditions on the base became highly unstable and the Corporation finally decided to seal off the entire facility and leave. Only the most basic maintenance and security, including weapons systems, were left turned on. To prevent the base falling into ruin….and to prevent illegal prospectors from entering and resuming the mining operation.

But they came anyway. The lure of the unimaginable wealth of Alpha Prime was too strong. Moreover, some of these illegal visitors were naturally quite resistant to the effects of “bad” hubbardium. So they arrived, they circumvented security protocols and partially resumed mining. Their use of hubbardium was rather different, though. They didn’t want to produce fuel; they came to make hubbardium into a powerful drug, worth its weight in gold on the black market. If the operation went successfully, they would become multimillionaires. But they miscalculated. Alpha Prime hubbardium was apparently too strong and started to exert influence even over the hardened minds of the miners. There was something very, very weird about this asteroid. It didn’t take long before they started to become desperate and called for help. One of those on the team, Warren, called his old friend, Arnold, a seasoned, hubbardium resistant explorer, and asked him to come and help them out of their dire condition.

And even though YOU, Arnold, already quit some time ago, you were finally persuaded, less by the obvious desperation on Warren’s face than by appeals to consider your tight financial situation by Livia, your girlfriend.

While the first military application of a helicopter took place in 1942, when the German Kriegsmarine began to use Flettner FL-282s as anti-submarine warfare platforms, the helicopter truly came of age as a battlefield weapon during the Vietnam War. Unlike the Second World War, which saw many battles in or near heavily urbanized areas, with easy access, the war in Vietnam was one of often remote jungle battles. Men could slog through the dense terrain, but it was a grueling process, and with few exceptions, vehicles would simply not be able to navigate many of the engagement zones. Enter the helicopter.

Able to transport ground troops, heavy equipment, and even provide fire support to even the remotest of the hinterlands, helicopters changed the nature of ground conflict. Now, hunters from the sky did not have to be dropped from huge aircraft, scattered all over the countryside, but instead could be inserted precisely where they were needed. Likewise, if need be they could be extracted just as easily.

Air Assault Task Force by ProSIM Company firmly places you in the boots and saddles of the air cavalry, commanding forces across decades of helicopter operations. From battling Charlie in Vietnam, to skinnies in Somalia, to Islamfascism in Afghanistan, Air Assault Task Force covers the spectrum of heliborne operations of recent times.

ProSIM is already known for their ultra-realistic modern "command-time" simulations (so known that they are used as a basis for real-world training sims!), and Air Assault Task Force continues the fine tradition as an evolution of past projects. Of course ultimately Air Assault Task Force is a game, and ProSIM has once again crafted a computer opponent that will mercilessly hammer the unprepared. Tom & Jerry: Fists of Furry for the PC Gaming Modeled after the Super Smash Bros. fighting genre that hasn't but dominated the children's fighter on console, Tom & Jerry: Fists of Furry subtly mocks this 2D combat style with an almost simpler 3D representation. In this case, the characters are, if you haven't guessed, the entire line-up from the Tom & Jerry series, including Tom, Jerry, Butch, Duckling, Spike, and Tuffy. Sounds like the makings of a good game.

A good console game, that is. PC folks are strongly advised to get a couple of game port controllers for the kids (might I recommend the USB compatible Logitech WingMan Rumblepad(TM)?), as this game gives little to keyboard and mouse input. It's a port from the console version, so it plays best when mimicking this system.

I was a bit disappointed by the confined feeling that becomes so obvious in later stages of Fists of Furry. The game starts and ends exactly the same - except at the end, you have one more character unlocked (out of ten). The game's difficulty is of an even greater concern, but enough of this vagueness. Let's get busy on specifics.

The levels are recognized from the cartoon; these include the kitchen, the backyard, the farm, and pretty much all of the settings that you can remember from the show. Don't smile yet, there's a catch, as I can't stress the claustrophobia that becomes so apparent after nearly an hour of playing this game in single-player mode.

The initial reaction to Tom & Jerry: Fists of Furry, admittedly, entices at least a smirk. Expect a halt from passers by, since the immediate charm is unavoidable. Tom's melodramatic scream, Jerry's catch-me-if-you-can attitude, Duckling's pitiful quacking voice...well, you've been warned, but my opinion is that the fun-factor takes a steady plunge as soon as the game is started. The ten tiny levels make up for all of the settings, and the combat system does not unfold.

Oh yeah, the combat system...the only real uniqueness lies in the ability to interact with objects and send projectiles toward the opponent. An opponent with good timing can intercept these objects and send them at a greater speed - resulting in greater damage on your health bar. In actuality, the system works great, and in this respect multiplayer action can be a blast. Single-player mode is unavoidable, however, as the characters have to be earned by defeating the game at least eight times - a feat that even avid gamers will find challenging.
